5 Takeaways from the April 2021 COVID-19 Vaccine Study

  1. Vaccinations are rising
    • 41.8% say they have gotten the vaccine (↑19.8%)
    • 33.8% still plan to get vaccinated
  2. Uncertainty is declining
    • 13.6% say they will never get the COVID-19 vaccine
    • ↓3.1% March to April
  3. “Never” has leveled out
    • 10.9% of 23,615 respondents say they will never get the vaccine
    • Highest in Idaho, Louisiana, Montana, Nevada, and Oklahoma
  4. Herd Immunity (70% – Mayo Clinic) is closer
    • 34/48 States are on track to have over 70% vaccinated (got + will get vaccine)
    • The 14 States below 70% are AR, DE, GA, ID, IN, KY, LA, MS, MT, NV, SD, TN, WV, and WY
  5. Concerns are down across the board
    • More vaccinated people +  people are starting to see that many of their concerns are no longer as much of a concern
    • Main concern nationwide is “I am worried about the vaccine’s side effects” at 37.9% (↓3.8%)
