How LCMC Health Published 57,991 Verified Patient Reviews and Nearly Doubled Its Provider Page Traffic
LCMC Health, a nonprofit health system in New Orleans, partnered with NRC Health to publish verified patient reviews on its own provider pages instead of leaving that story to third-party review sites.
Within six months of rollout, the share of LCMC Health providers ranking in Google’s top three results climbed from 7.4% to more than 21%, and average monthly page views on those pages grew from 11,664 to 22,052.
LCMC Health has published 57,991 patient reviews at an average rating of 4.8 out of 5, and providers have disputed three of them.

The Solution: Here’s How NRC Health Helped Publish Verified Patient Reviews
NRC Health helped LCMC Health publish verified patient reviews on its own provider pages, using feedback the system was already collecting.
Our healthcare reputation management capabilities provide a comprehensive system for publishing ratings and reviews. Our review publishing captures, screens, and verifies that 100% of comments come through LCMC Health’s patient experience surveys.
Screening comes first.
Our Natural Language Processing (NLP) automatically filters out any libelous, fraudulent, or HIPAA-violating content. Once screened, the ratings appear on organization websites as star reviews.
This process guarantees that only authentic patient feedback appears on health systems’ websites—a reliable indicator of quality for consumers and leaders alike.
NRC Health gives physicians and other providers a visible marker of their performance. At a glance, they can see the aggregated history of their patients’ reviews. This can be invaluable for efforts at improving their approach to care.
“We know that consumers start their healthcare search online. Partnering with NRC Health allowed us to harness the power of the patient feedback we were already collecting and share verified patient reviews on our own site, providing consumers with the information they most value and connecting them directly with our providers.”
— Christine Albert, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Communications, LCMC Health

Providers in Google’s Top 3 Rose From 7.4% to 21%
Provider pages that had barely registered in search started ranking.
The share of LCMC Health providers appearing in Google’s top three results grew from 7.4% to more than 21%.
The reason isn’t that Google rewards reviews directly; it’s that provider profiles that had been thin and nearly identical became pages with unique, regularly refreshed content specific to each clinician, giving search engines a reason to rank them above third-party directories.
Traffic followed. The average monthly page views on those pages rose from 11,664 to 22,052, an 89% increase.
Monthly Feedback Meetings at Every Site of Care
The change reached past search and into operations. Every site of care now holds monthly feedback meetings to read patient comments and look for ways to improve the care experience. Operational leaders sit in, so a facility or process problem raised in a review gets an owner in the room instead of a forwarded email.
Three Disputed Reviews Out of 57,991
Clinician confidence was the last piece to fall into place. Clinicians hesitated at first, worried about public exposure and about being graded unfairly by a single unhappy patient.
Volume settled it. Across 57,991 published reviews, providers have disputed three, roughly one in every 19,000. It’s the number LCMC Health’s leaders reach for when a peer at another system asks whether transparency is safe.
The gains reached recruiting, too. LCMC Health’s Physician Practices group reports a marked improvement in onboarding new clinicians.
“LCMC Health is committed to transparency. We value the feedback that we receive through our patient satisfaction surveys and are proud to share that information.”
— Dr. John Heaton, President of Clinical and System Operations, LCMC Health
Three Things LCMC Health Would Tell Another Health System
1. Over-Communicate, for Longer Than Feels Necessary
Providers resist publication because their reputations are at stake. LCMC Health ran a communication campaign lasting more than a year before full rollout: platform demonstrations, an internal toolkit from NRC Health, email updates, and one-on-one conversations. Its leaders consider this the single largest factor in the rollout succeeding.
2. Roll Out Internally First
LCMC Health debuted the ratings display on a staging site so employees could see exactly how they would be portrayed before anything went public. Letting clinicians find their own profile in a safe environment removed most of the anxiety before launch day.
3. Recruit Physician Champions at Every Site
Clinicians believe other clinicians. LCMC Health recruited physician leaders at each hospital to advocate for the program with their peers.
“As a physician, I understood the worries and concerns of my peers, but I also was aware that patients are choosing a provider based on the information online. Although it can be difficult to see a sometimes-negative review on my profile, it’s been overwhelmingly positive, and I’ve even had new patients come to me as a result of the reviews they’ve read.”
— Dr. Christopher Lege, Internal Medicine Physician and Transparency Physician Champion, Touro
