Pediatric Collab Preview: How a culture of excellence leads to exceptional patient experiences

The NRC Health 2023 Pediatric Collaborative is truly a can’t-miss experience, with exceptional presentations that will stir innovative ideas for attendees to bring back to their larger PX and marketing teams. The collaborative’s theme, “Understanding On-deck,” will bring high-performing organizations together to connect directly with their “home team” of pediatrics and collaborate with and learn from peers in an intimate and intentional setting.

The event is set for March 28–29, 2023, at Phoenix Children’s in Phoenix, Arizona.

This year’s lineup includes a host of great presentations. Angie Buckmeier, Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer, and Matt Chance, Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, at Scottish Rite for Children in Dallas, will explain how their organization helps ensure that each patient receives the care and attention they need. Scottish Rite for Children’s multidisciplinary and collaborative approach helps give children their childhood back, leading to success in exceptional patient experiences.

The Scottish Rite team will present:

  • How they define the patient and family perspective in the phrase, “Keep me safe. Heal me. Be nice to me.”
  • How more than 100 years of individualized care have led to excellent patient experiences
  • How strategies to share patient-satisfaction results with both leaders and frontline staff work best
  • How to drive improvements in the organization from patient comments

“Our hope is that participants will walk away with an increased awareness of the impact of focused team efforts in driving excellence for patients and families,” Chance says. “We hope to share our passion and evidence-based best practices, implemented to drive improvements in our patient-family experience continuously.”

Buckmeier explains that collaborating and networking with pediatric leaders benefits patients and families and the organizations caring for them. This openness provides an opportunity to meet new contacts to follow up with and seek ways to improve in areas specific to the pediatric population.

“We are so excited about the opportunity to hear others speak on their success and opportunities related to patient experience, meet other pediatric leaders, and fill our toolkit with additional resources that will benefit our patients, their families, and our organization,” Chance says.
