Conservation of Resources Theory

This quarter’s infogram from the NRC Health Workforce Engagement Team features content related to the Conservation of Resources (COR) Theory. This is a foundational organizational-research theory that explains the relationship between stress and resource loss. The predominant themes behind COR theory are that staff are more likely to be impacted by resource loss than resource gain, and that those who experience loss spirals are significantly more at risk for burnout.
