Ryan Donohue serves as a Strategic Advisor for NRC Health. He has authored many publications on strategic branding and consumerism, including The New Payer: What Makes the Healthcare Consumer Tick? and The Curious Case of the Healthcare Consumer. His latest research has culminated in a book called Patient No Longer, available through Health Administration Press.   

He’s been featured on the Beckers Hospital Review website and podcast, speaking about price-transparency lessons that consumers can teach hospitals, how pandemic stress has affected parenting, and the impacts of AI on patient experience and patient care. 

Donohue, who previously had stints at Cartoon Network and Sports Illustrated, now hosts the popular Patient No Longer podcast, where he speaks with industry leaders like Dr. Mike Varshavski and Dr. Geeta Nayyarr, who will join him at HUB24 this year. 

Donohue will kick off day two of the HUB24 with his presentation Framing Human Understanding for the Healthcare Experience on Wednesday, August 22.  

“Human Understanding is the concept that everybody is unique,” Donohue says. “Everyone has a story. And we have to work to understand every story, so we see each person as unique, not just a patient chart or a consumer trend.”   

Donohue will also serve as emcee for the event and lead a fireside chat with Dr. Nayyarr on August 21.
