Important HCAHPS Survey updates for 2025

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) have finalized pivotal changes to the 2024 Inpatient Prospective Payment System (IPPS) Rule, introducing a series of enhancements aimed at improving survey administration and data collection processes.  

Key updates include the adoption of web-first survey administration modes, the allowance of proxy respondents, and an extension of the data collection period to 49 days. 

Additional changes are proposed for 2025.
