Let’s transform healthcare together at HUB23

HUB23 will set the stage to improve healthcare experiences for patients, providers, caregiving teams, health systems, and communities.

Here’s a preview of one of our mainstage presentations:

“System Work Is Culture Work,” presented by the Prisma Health team of Jonathan Gleason, MD, Executive Vice President, Chief Clinical Officer, and Korby Miller, MS, CPXP, Vice President Experience, Safety and Quality Operations

Healthcare faces major challenges regarding safety, quality, patient experience, health equity, team engagement, and costs. Health systems focus on people to improve performance with approaches typified by prioritization, aligned incentives, and improving culture. However, health systems are complex adaptive systems comprised of human teams and technology interfaces.

What if focusing efforts on improving systems first were the foundation for improving and sustaining a culture that builds trust with our teams, enabling and empowering them to do what they came into healthcare to do—namely, improve health in the communities in which they serve? Learn how, despite current challenges, one health system achieved top-decile performance in sepsis mortality and top-quartile likelihood-to-recommend with a primary focus on systems. We believe that systems work is culture work.
