This year’s lineup includes many great presentations, including one by a team from Children’s Hospital Colorado. Shelby Chapman, Director of Patient-Family Experience, and Shawna Grissom, Director of Family Services, will discuss creating safe environments for employees and patients. 

Given the deep connection between the employee experience and the patient-family experience, healthcare organizations must develop training and resources to support employees’ ability to de-escalate tense situations effectively in the healthcare setting. Increased verbal escalations, patient frustrations, and personal and professional stressors on care teams have created a critical need for an empathetic approach.
